Izu-numa, Waterfowl Paradise in Miyagi ガンの群れを観に

My first birding in 2018 was visiting Izu-numa in Miyagi 6th January to 8th (3days) to see waterfowls. It was amazing time to see geese taking off all at once from the water surface to leave roost in the morning.

In Kabukuri-numa about 15km from Izu-numa, Bean geese (Anser fabalis middendorffii ) and Whooper Swans had a good relax time.

Also we enjoyed a White-tailed Eagle in the sky. However ducks and swans were surprised at the appearance of big wings,

In the paddies around Izu-numa, the geese were eating there but sometimes they flew away and moved. When they moved, the background became a blue sky unlike in the morning, which was another beauty.

2018年初のバードウォッチングに伊豆沼へ行ってきました。数万羽の雁が塒から飛び立つときの光景は圧巻の一言。写真では表しきれません。この興奮を知りたい方は、ぜひ伊豆沼へお出かけください。
