シマアジその2 September Garganey Vol.2

A birding friend of mine gave me the information of Garganey in Saitama on 18th September. Surprisingly, he has found 2 individuals! I visited again there to see the "2", and I could compare the colour difference of the wing coverts, this is one of the important ID point of the bird. It is very interested in the difference of wing colour.

One bird has typical coverts colour on its wing

Another one has different colour of coverts. It does not have "blue" on its wing.

実家付近では一年に一度会えるかというシマアジでしたが、引っ越した先ではほぼ毎年会えています。同じ関東エリアであっても（しかも60-70km程度しか離れていない）、鳥の様子は違うので、たいへん興味深いと思っています。

これからも地域の鳥をしっかり見つめていくバードウォッチングを続けていきたいと考えています。
